It's halfway through September already. How did that happen?

Life is just amazingly good right now. It's like everything did a 180 and the world decided I'd been through enough in a year and I should get to be 100 percent completely happy again. And I completely agree.

So wedding planning is not really happening yet, but thats ok with me for now. We're happy being engaged and we'll worry about details later (not to worry too much though, we're working on the date part right now).

Annnd hopefully some apple picking will happen soon! :D

I saw a commercial for a new show on VH1 this morning. It's called Tool Academy. I think it should be an awesome train wreck, because I love calling people tools. I don't think it will be a good as Bromance, but I'm willing to see if it can live up to it's potential.

10:24 pm - Home
I'm back from New Mexico. It was such a good trip. I'm so sad that it's over. It was most definitely too short though, as I didn't get to see several people I wanted to see. At least we'll be back in October!

I flew back yesterday in a long drawn out day. I went from ABQ to Washington DC, and from there to NY. I was supposed to go from NY to Manchester, but took a bump for a travel voucher, as well as a flight directly to Boston. Too bad the flight to Boston was nearly two hours delayed. After about 15 hours, I finally made it home. Home, quite, lonely home. Johnny is not back yet and our cute little apartment is kind of empty without him. I cannot wait for Sunday until he get home!

Work is going well. Today was my first official day at work. After 9 months of working there, I'm finally official. It was a day much like any other day, but I did have to train the new kid a little bit. I'm not sure that I'm so good at training. I've never trained anyone before, soooo hopefully he gets the gist of things without TOO much trouble...or hopefully I'm better at training than I think!

Tonight I'm sitting home, trying to recover from all the traveling yesterday. Top Chef Masters is on, and it's not very hot. Life is not too bad, even if Johnny isn't here :)

10:25 pm - Exciting Week!
This is such a good week I can hardly stand it! But there is so much waiting involved!

Tomorrow is nothing. Just a long day and laundry.

BUT! Thursday is Johnny's birthday! And I get my new Blackberry in the mail! Yes! I totally upgraded because I have the best dad in the world and he loves me and let me upgrade while still staying on the family plan :) Apparently these things are like crack. I cannot wait to find out.

Then Friday is a half day of work and NEW MEXICO! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! There will be Ogrens and friends and Isotopes and Mexican lattes and OMG it's going to be amazing.

Now if I could just get through the boring tomorrow to the good stuff, I'd be a lot happier! There is SO much to look forward to!

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY LINDSAY!!!!

I miss you. I know you're staying on that boat until October, but I wish you'd come home once and a while lol. Have a fantastic birthday and toast yourself a beer or two from us Boston folk. Love you! :D

08:11 am - TGIF
It's Friday. That makes me happy.

It's raining again. That does not make me happy.

Annice moved home from Denver and I get to see her tonight. That makes me VERY happy.

I still have no progress on the job front. That does not make me happy.

Clearly, life is up and down. But weather and work aside, it's good. Really good, actually. So I guess I can't complain too much.

Oh yeah, and two weeks from today, I'll be flying to New Mexico. :)

4th of July was great. We had a good party and Boston had great fire works that we watched crowd-free from my sister's roof deck :)

I love the 4th so much!

MJ, Farrah and Ed. What a sad week.

(I'm getting a little annoyed that people are only focusing on MJ. He totally stole Farrah's thunder).

They were all amazing and will be missed.

But at least it's the weekend!! :D

11:17 am - ABQ!
I booked our flights to ABQ this morning! Finally! We're been talking about this trip for so long, but hadn't actually bought tickets because they were really expensive. By some amazing chance this morning, the flights were down by $75-$100, so we booked! I will be there August 7-11th, and Johnny will stay until the 15th.

I'm so excited! I haven't been there since Christmas! I cannot wait to see my friends and his family. (But my friends esp because I just saw his family). It's not a really long time, but with work I couldn't really manage more than two full days off. But oh well! Some time is better than no time! :D

09:15 pm - New Job-ish
I am training for a new job! :)

It the CRA (clinical research associate) position at my current company. I applied for the job back in January, but they haven't been able to hire any one because of the budget. Lucky for me, one of the current CRAs is leaving in a few weeks for med school! So I found out on Friday, and started my training yesterday.

So far I've only done the required online training (SO BORING), and read a lot of study specific information, but it had to be done. Now that I've finished the training and they can sign off that they told me how to be a responsible CRA (so if I mess up it's my fault lol), I will start the good stuff tomorrow. I'll train with the outgoing CRA until she leaves, and as long as I am up to speed with everything, I'll get the full time job!

I never pictured myself in a science job, but it is where I find myself and I'm enjoying it. I love the people that I work with, and that's always been the saving grace in my kind-of-crappy job, so I'm really looking forward to being able to stick around and work with them more closely.

Now lets just hope I can keep up and make it through the training!

01:22 pm - Random
Work is boring this Wednesday. Actually, it is boring everyday. boo.

I finished my lunch and really wish I had some gum. Or a tooth brush.

Three and a half more hours before I can go outside and play. Hopefully it's not raining then.

My ipod is so loud in my ears right now, but the woman in the office across from me is on a conference call...and she raises the end of EVERY sentence, as if she were asking questions. And it DRIVES ME NUTS. A loud ipod is the only way to silence her.

I called my mom on Friday, and on Sunday, and Monday and had not heard back from her. I was getting nervous, until I got an email from her saying she dropped her phone in the toilet while she was painting her bathroom. haha poor mom. So glad I don't have to worry though!

I didn't go to the gym yesterday because I was reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter. It was so good. I couldn't put it down. I'm not sure if it really that good or if it's just SO much better than Anna Karenina (which I just finished reading after FOUR MONTHS), that I was in love with it. The next book I have to read is an historical fiction about Charles Dickens. Hopefully it's good too.

I am decorating my green bedroom walls with mirrors. I got two more from my gramma's basement this weekend. I am hoping that Johnny will remember to fix their backings today so I can hang them. That would get them off my bedroom floor and that would make me happy. If anyone has any mirrors they don't want, I am collecting them.

This is a very disjointed post.

I wish people would post more so I had something to read while bored at work on Wednesdays.

I am looking forward to the James Taylor concert I have tickets too. Unfortunately, it isn't until August 28th. Johnny gave me the tickets for Valentine's Day. It's been a long wait.

Is there something in the water in Hollywood that makes all the movie stars have babies before they're married...or that makes them have twins? It's like an epidemic.

Sorry this is so lame. I am so bored.

10:14 am - Famous!
I forgot to mention in my post about this weekend that while walking through Boston Johnny's family and I saw Adam Sandler...and on the same block we saw Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen.

Then last night Johnny has Ben Affleck at BU. Crazy!

09:27 am - Come and Gone...for Now
My boyfriend's family has come and gone. It was a good trip. We did a lot of exploring Boston and enjoying some great seafood. They all left yesterday afternoon, his dad back to ABQ and his mom and sister up to Vermont. The two ladies will be back for one more overnight on Saturday before they leave for ABQ. It will be nice to have them back again, after a little break.

It was really great to have them, but my little apartment is really much too small for five people, even if one is only 8 years old. My boyfriend is sad about them leaving, but knowing that they'll be back on Saturday makes it a little better...at least for the time being.

And now it's back to work. At least I only have a two day week this week. One day of dress pants, then jeans :) I think I can handle it.

10:47 am - Tomorrow!
My dearest boyfriend's family comes in town tomorrow and I'm so excited! I was a little stressing about getting everything ready for their arrival, but things are pretty much clean and ready for guests (minus sheets needing washing, but there's plenty of time for that still), so now I can be excited!

I talked to Johnny's sister this morning...today is her last day of 2nd grade. I called to wish her a good last day. She was VERY excited and said they would get to play games AND do clean up. How exciting. I forgot just how amazing the last day of school and the arrival of summer can be. I guess you those that when you start working and there really isn't a summer break to look forward to...

So if I can just make it through the rest of today (I'm hoping the wonderful people here at work decide that we should be let out early for the holiday weekend...) then I'll be good. Then it's the weekend. A nice long weekend..plus two extra days due to the visitors. Not good for the pay check, but good for the sanity :)

Happy Memorial Day to all! Enjoy the weekend and the good weather!

10:20 am - Wednesday
I am back from Greece. It was good. I got to spend a night in Athens and it made me feel like I actually went out of the country lol.

I'm very happy these days because I have a happy apartment :) Johnny repainted the bedroom and refinished our kitchen cabinets, so everything looks pretty and put together. Our room is kelley green and I'm in love with it. I think some people will hate it, but it makes me smile. Whats also super awesome about this, is that Johnny did it while I was gone for the weekend. Which meant that a. I did not have to help and 2. I didn't have to freak out about the mess that was my apartment in the process.

So now, after almost 9 full months of living in our apartment, I feel like it's complete. It's homey and exactly what I want out of it. I would like a bigger kitchen, but we can't make that happen ourselves, so I'll do without :)

And Johnny bought me a Nintendo Wii because I wanted one and he loves me.

And I ate a cupcake this morning for a snack instead of my usual yogurt and All Bran and now I don't feel so hot. haha OOhhh well. I can't resist chocolate.

12:44 pm - Down time in Greece
Things in Greece are awesome. We're staying a little ways out of the city (which is not an impressive one anyway) and it's raining, so we're doing some reading and playing online instead of lounging by the pool.

So to take up some time I did this ABCs )

Oh and this trips hates my jewelry. I lost my watch in the Paris airport and my favorite pink beaded necklace broke this morning! Hopefully nothing else happens!

02:25 pm - Greece!
Oh my goodness my life is crazy! I'm going to Greece tomorrow! Yes, the fabulous-I've-always-wanted-to-go-there-country of Greece!

My absolutely wonderful uncle and I were having dinner last night when he mentioned he was going for business. I gushed about how I'd always wanted to go, and he suggest I go with him! What?!?! Of course I want to go! So I'm going with him to help with the conference (which is amazing because I am dying for a job with his company!) and enjoy the sights of Greece! For 6 days! Starting tomorrow!!!

It's so nuts! I have so much to do before I go!

01:18 pm - Yet Another Monday
I find myself struggling to make it through another Monday. I did get my taxes done last week, so that was good, but today is probably a worse day to be stuck at work doing nothing. Today is the Boston Marathon and a holiday for most people. Thousands of people are running through the streets of the city, and thousands more cheering them on, enjoying the weather and an afternoon Red Sox game. Me? I'm in a freezing cold office with an awful job wishing I was anywhere but here. Awesome.
